Checklists for Environmental Management and ISO 14001:2004

Ultimate Checklists from SGC are designed to test environmental management effectiveness.  They consist of interpretation of requirements, guidance and questions on environmental issues ranging from compliance to sustainability.  Requirements are broken down into elements that can be easily understood. They enable persons with environmental responsibilities, consultants or auditors assess performance against requirements such as ISO 14001:2004, legal requirements and best practice

We have developed a variety of different checklists.  Firstly, we have a high level requirements checklist for testing overall conformance to ISO 14001:2004.  Further checklists examine specific environmental aspects, such as emissions to air or waste, in more detail and include references to UK legal requirements.  The functional checklists are designed for specific areas such as the office, procurement or design.  They address environmental issues that are specific to the activities of that department or function.

‘Evaluation of Compliance’ is an important feature of ISO 14001:2004.  To help address this requirement, we have prepared ‘Evaluation of Compliance’ checklists covering requirements such as waste management, PPC etc.

The checklists are integrated and cross reference with each other.  Each checklist is supported by an audit protocol including a simple Microsoft Word based form for recording, grading or scoring findings.

The checklists provide a consistent approach to assessing environmental performance and are particularly beneficial to persons who are inexperienced in environmental management, auditing systems or the development of environmental management systems. They also provide a good comparison of a system’s performance between audits over time or between audits of different locations or functions.

The checklists are primarily designed for an effective internal audit process but can also be used for supplier (2nd party) or certification (3rd party) audits.  They are also designed to test progress with ISO 14001 implementation during the development of the system.

A good checklist takes time and experience to develop. We have used our experience from 100’s of audits covering a broad spectrum of organisations over a period of more than a decade to develop and refine these checklists.  We are confident you will find them of great benefit to your business.

Our checklists are supplied as electronic PDF documents complete with a Microsoft Word proforma for recording your checks or audits.

Please review the available checklists overleaf and use the attached order form to place your order.  During September 2006 we have a special introductory offer of the ISO 14001 and environmental aspects checklists (7 in total) for just £50.00
